On the afternoon of August 14, families, caregivers, grandparents, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, staff and let’s not forget - the graduates themselves -- met at the Daycare for a gathering to celebrate the Preschool Graduates of 2025!
With the classrooms decked out in red, black, and gold streamers and balloons, a New York themed backdrop, fancy red-carpet entrance, the classic “Pomp and Circumstance Graduation Walking March” song played as the graduating friends entered the gathering hall. Each child was individually announced amidst smiles, applause, and proud faces surrounding them on all sides. Some friends were shy, some were carried, some walked with pride, and others with frivolity, but they all made their way to centre stage at the front of the room. Onlookers beamed as they took in the young Daycare friends in their blue satin graduation caps and dressed up in fancy dress clothes reserved for special occasions such as this.
Daycare staff did an amazing job of arranging the special details to make this day a memorable one for everyone in attendance! Gift bags were presented to each graduate in turn, and once everyone had received acknowledgement and congratulation cheers, guests were invited to join together for a full-course turkey dinner. A colour-coordinated cake with matching cupcakes, a Sagamok Home Baked creation, made a delicious dessert to ‘cap off’ the event.
Chi miigwech to Shki Waase-Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik for hosting this beautiful event and providing an unforgettable celebration and send-off for our little friends and their families transitioning from Daycare to Biidaaban in September. Chi miigwech to all Daycare Staff for providing the children with loving care, nurturing, and for supporting developmental milestones during their time at the Daycare.
