In April, Shki Waase-Aaban Binoojiinh Gamik daycare friends travelled to Biidaaban Kinoomaagegamik by bus to experience what a typical day in the 'big school' might feel like. They were able to familiarize themselves with getting on/off the bus and riding on the bus (something that can cause anxiety in itself), walking through the big main doors and down the hallway in search of their future classroom.

Daycare staff members supported throughout, and interacted with the students while they explored new toys, learning tools, and a new environment. The 'Transition Days' give the young students an opportunity to 'test things out', gain confidence, feel comfortable, and be supported as they adjust to transitioning from their familiar Daycare environment to something altogether new and unfamiliar; Biidaaban elementary. Miigwech to all education staff who support our children as they learn to explore new things and expand their horizons.
